Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026 · GDPR compliant

1. Our commitment: zero collection

PikScan is a 100% local application. Unlike many SaaS solutions, we operate no user database, no sync server, and no in-app analytics.

Throughout app use, PikScan does not collect, receive, store, or process any data about you or your contacts. No network connection is required to scan, qualify, or export your data.

Publisher contact (policy questions only): support@pikscan.com

2. Data stored on your device

The following information is saved locally only on your smartphone or tablet, under your responsibility:

  • Receipt fields extracted by OCR (amount, date, merchant, VAT, category, image)
  • Trips / missions (dates, location, currency, budget)
  • Expense notes and approval status
  • Categories and report / comparison aggregates
  • Optional biometric lock preference
  • JSON or ZIP backups you choose to export

This data never leaves your device through PikScan. You are the sole data controller under GDPR for expense data you store.

3. What PikScan does not do

  • No application servers: no cloud, no remote sync
  • No telemetry: no analytics, tracking, or usage stats uploaded
  • No user accounts: no sign-up, no profile hosted by PikScan
  • No remote access: we cannot view, retrieve, or back up your data
  • No data sales: we hold none

OCR and storage run entirely on your device. Export to CSV, Excel, PDF, accounting formats, or JSON / ZIP backup occurs only when you initiate it, to a destination of your choice (AirDrop, Files, email, cloud drive, etc.).

4. Subscriptions (Apple / Google only)

In-app purchases and Pro subscriptions are managed exclusively by Apple (App Store). PikScan receives no payment, identity, or billing data. Refer to Apple's privacy policy for those processing activities.

5. Voluntary email contact

If you write to support@pikscan.com, we receive only the information you choose to include (email address, message content). This is independent of the app and entirely voluntary. We use these exchanges solely to respond to your request.

6. pikscan.com website

The showcase website does not collect personal data via forms. Only theme preference (light/dark) may be stored in the browser via localStorage, without transmission to PikScan.

7. Your obligations as a professional user

When scanning receipts or badges, you collect third-party personal data. You must:

  • inform data subjects when required by law;
  • use this data for legitimate professional purposes;
  • honor their rights (access, rectification, deletion) via your accounting tools or directly in PikScan.

8. Security and retention

Your data is protected by native iOS encryption on your iPhone. PikScan optionally offers biometric lock (Face ID, Touch ID).

Data remains on your device until manual deletion (Settings → My data) or app uninstallation. PikScan holds no copy. If you export a .pikscan backup file, you remain responsible for securing and sharing that archive: PikScan does not host or receive it.

9. Your rights

For contacts stored in the app, you exercise all GDPR rights directly in PikScan: view, edit, export, and complete deletion, with no intermediary.

For questions about this policy: support@pikscan.com. You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (e.g. CNIL in France).

10. Changes

This policy may evolve to reflect Service improvements or regulatory requirements. The update date appears at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it regularly.
